Logic Control Algorithm Based on Panboolean Algebra and Its Application for Temperature Control of Ceramic Roller Kiln

This paper describes a logic control approach for controlling the temperature of the sintering area of ceramic roller kiln. The logic control is proposed based on the theory of PanBlooean algebra. Its logic control model is represented with the sets of mathematical operation rules formed in terms of state variables of system, and the flow chart of logic control inlcudes diagnosis, decision-making, controller and output. A novel logic control algorithm is designed. This control scheme relies on the correlation between E and EC of temperature. E means error between reference value and real temperature of the kiln, and EC means the differential coefficient of E, namely d(erro)/dt. This correlation forms the basis for development of a logic control algorithm. After that, a real-time logic controller is designed to make the output temperature of roller kiln follow the reference value closely, which selects the E and EC as feedback. Additionally, this kind of logic control method not only can effectively control the temperature of kiln without accurate mathematical models for the kiln, but also can be realized easily in engineering simply. The effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed logic control algorithm are both high. It is a kind of effective control strategy for temperature of roller kiln.
