ISBN: 978-0-7695-4522-6
PRMA is a medium access control (MAC) protocol for centralized wireless LAN, which is not suitable for wireless ad hoc network requirements. However, some of the fine structure and ideas of the agreement can be used in a distributed network. According to characteristics of long delay channel and wireless Ad hoc network, this article improved PRMA protocol are brought into RTS/CTS handshake mechanism of MACA protocol, re-classified the frame structure, and added in the concept of sub-time slot and increased the possibility of node access channel. Simulation results show that it has higher channel utilization when the designed protocol of this article in burst period compared with the 802.11 DCF protocol, satisfied the need of long delay channel transmission.
