In this paper we present a content adaptation framework that addresses the problem of delivering Internet content to varying client devices. The NaproxI system makes it possible to develop and deploy the content adaptation framework without disturbing the Internet content server or the client side devices. The edge proxies in a peer-to-peer organization detect the client device capabilities and in turn drive the NaproxI system to process the requests depending upon the profile of the device which issued the request. The transcoding framework proposed is extendable and scalable, in terms of processing different types of content. We implemented a prototype to prove the feasibility of such a system and to demonstrate its effectiveness.
