Summary form only given. The TRAC (transportation and civil engineering) program-a joint effort of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, the Federal Highway Administration and the National Cooperative Highway Research Program-is intended to expand the pool of potential engineers by increasing awareness among high school students, especially female and minority students, of transportation and civil engineering as potential career choices. This paper summarizes the findings of a questionnaire survey of TRAC activities at a sample of high schools participating in the program. The survey was conducted from January 1997 through March 1997. Questionnaires were distributed to both students and teachers at the sample schools.
