Before defining a model for uncertain and imprecise semi-structured data, a clear understanding of the semantics of ignorance is necessary. In this paper, we show that many dimensions of ignorance may co-exist inside a semi-structured data instance. We classify them, on the basis of a general data model, and we identify their inter-dependencies. We also show that the restriction of our model to the relational context leads to only one dimension of ignorance, as revealed in many other scientific works.
