Multicasting Tree Transformation for Concurrent Modest Multimedia Service

In mOBCP (mini-overlay broadcasting control protocol), Multicasting tree transformation has proved to provide a modest service for multi-viewers sharing content-source. A mechanism is proposed to apply the tree transformation function in mOBCP to provide efficient real-time, concurrent service. The multimedia trees transformed have maximum peak RTT values of about 0.6 seconds - better than TBCP and HMTP. The proposed mOBCP does well in terms of session connections. This implies that a better, modest service can be provided, especially when multi-viewers increase. The number of hosts against the group size after tree reconstruction seems to be the best. The maximum average relative delay penalty (ARDP) of less than six units indicates that the mOBCP welcomes modest services in multimedia groups with affordable penalty, regardless of the number of hosts. The transformed trees constructed/reconstructed perform better in terms of tree costs, average RTT, number of hosts, and ARDP.
