The Application of Apriori-Gen Algorithm on the Interaction Analysis of SNPs in Genetic Disease

Gene-gene interaction analyses have been used to identify common disease susceptibility genes. Recently, evidence of a statistical interaction among several SNPs has been reported in Crohn's disease. This paper explores the application of Apriori-Gen algorithm on the association study in Crohn's disease. The Apriori-Gen algorithm has been applied to SNP data of Crohn's disease for association study. The result shows the interaction among 5 SNPs with support of 50% and confidence of 60%. The relative risk RR and odds ratio OR are 1.98 and 2.59, respectively. The experiment results indicate that the interaction among those SNPs is responsible for the disease.
