Reviews in Innovative Software Development--The Gauntlet Game
Vienna, Austria
December 10-December 12
ISBN: 978-0-7695-3514-2
This paper proposes a new review approach for innovative software development. Innovative software development implies that requirements are rarely available as a basis for reviewing and that the purpose of a review is as much to forward additional ideas, as to validate what has been accomplished in the project already. The approach is called the Gauntlet. It is based on extensive use of roles for team members and on role-play with settings that simulate use situations. The paper describes the basis for the game, the game itself and illustrates briefly how it may be put to use.
