ABSTRACT
<p>Articles in the business press suggest there is a resurgence in the popularity of the idea of micropayments, but challenges remain on multiple fronts before such technology could play a significant role in the global economy. Not least among these are sociological issues that could keep users from embracing micropayments as a solution any time soon. </p>
