ABSTRACT
Reducing domestic energy consumption is a hot topic in the pervasive computing and CHI communities, with a long and varied history. This survey gives a brief overview of the history and current state of this problem from various perspectives—from pervasive computing feedback-oriented and technology-centric systems, to sociology- and economics-based studies. It aims to provide an introductory set of references that lets readers explore this topic's rich background more deeply and broadly.
