Almost everyone has been embarrassed, at least once, by his or her cell phone going off during a performance or meeting. And most people have at one time or another been annoyed by someone talking too loudly on a cell phone in a restaurant or other public place. Fortunately, unsolved problems can provide inspiration for research, new technologies, and new products.
