11th IEEE Int'l Conf. Data Mining 11–14 December 2011 Vancouver, Canada
Sponsored by IEEE Computer Society, ICDM 2011 calls itself the world's premier research conference on data mining. It provides an international forum for presentation of original research results, as well as for the exchange and dissemination of innovative, practical development experiences. The conference covers all aspects of data mining, including algorithms, software and systems, and applications.
ICDM draws researchers and application developers from a wide range of data mining-related areas such as statistics, machine learning, pattern recognition, databases and data warehousing, data visualization, knowledge-based systems, and high-performance computing. By promoting novel, high-quality research findings, and innovative solutions to challenging data mining problems, the conference seeks to continuously advance the state of the art in data mining. Besides the technical program, the conference features workshops, tutorials, panels, and the ICDM data mining contest.

IEEE Int'l Conf. Service-Oriented Computing and Applications 12–14 December 2011 University of California, Irvine
With the ever-increasing complexity of computing systems, service-oriented computing (SOC) is considered a key technology for the development of robust and high-quality distributed applications. Extensive research and development in the past few years has pushed SOC technology into numerous application areas including business processes, high-performance computing, Web-based services, and embedded systems. With more and more services being moved into the cloud, and the increasing prevalence of ubiquitous end devices that interface with the physical world, this presents an opportune moment to reexamine the directions of SOC research and identify new research opportunities and challenges.
SOCA is an annual conference of the IEEE Technical Committee on Business Informatics and Systems. SOCA 2011 provides an international forum for researchers from multiple disciplines to exchange and share their experiences, ideas, and latest research results on all aspects of SOC. The program will consist of invited talks, technical paper presentations, tutorials, industry sessions, workshops, and panel discussions.
