ABSTRACT
Handheld devices that allow users to replay high-quality video are becoming ubiquitous. However, we are just at the beginning of understanding the full potential of video use in a mobile context. This article investigates interface designs for video browsing on handheld devices. Based on the argument that more navigation is required in a mobile scenario, the author presents different user interfaces that enable users to interactively skim video at different granularity levels.
