Experiments in Digital Content
July-September 2002 (vol. 9 no. 3)
pp. 1

On occasion, after reading a compelling article, each of us might have wondered how great it would be to see the article?s ideas in action. Few other publications can make a case as strong as IEEE MultiMedia for this need. If our articles are about engaging all the senses, then why should we confine our presentations to the paper medium only? Here at MultiMedia, we're interested in enhancing our readers' experiences, so we're investigating ways of augmenting our printed articles with multimedia presentations. Although ultimately a Web-based repository would be most appropriate, we eventually hope to supplement each printed issue with a CD-ROM, which will have demos and other supporting material. We're in the process of developing such a project.
