Unifying Keywords and Visual Contents in Image Retrieval
April-June 2002 (vol. 9 no. 2)
pp. 23-33

They base the scheme on keywords and low-level visual content. Using an algorithm for a learned word similarity matrix, they conducted experiments that validated the approach.
