ABSTRACT
<p>A new approach to network traffic control &#x2014; OpenFlow &#x2014; is being promoted by the Open Networking Foundation and is on the cusp of commercial deployment. OpenFlow has the potential to allow unprecedented granular control of data traffic up and down the application stack.</p>
