The best way to reduce overhead and ensure accuracy in establishing parameter values in computers using TCP is to automate the procedure. The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol offers a mechanism that lets network administrators automate the configuration of TCP/IP stacks to bring plug-and-play operation to the Internet.
