The first news story, "AI and Privacy on the Web," looks at how computer scientists are dealing with issues of protecting personal information on the Web. The second news story, "Phonetic-Sequence Algorithm Could Reduce Drug Name Confusion," reports on ALINE, an algorithm for aligning phonetic sequences. ALINE is part of a US Food and Drug Administration program to decrease deaths and injuries due to confusion between drug names.
