EasyTransport is an intelligent system that offers guidelines for traveler navigation and multimodal transportation within urban or large-scale geographic areas. EasyTransport facilitates navigation by suggesting all possible alternative shortest routes that connect two or more transition points on a map. Multimodal transportation, a salient feature of EasyTransport, offers travelers multiple combinations of available transportation means along a system-generated route. The authors adopt a breadth-first-search?based algorithmic approach along with heuristics to support the underlying dynamic and scalable mechanisms. An interactive interface facilitates the dual mode of system operation and allows for the user?enabled adaptation of generated outcomes.
