When instructors at the University of Arkansas wanted to teach grid computing to beginning programming students, they focused on teaching the students to create and submit a grid job. Their involvement with the Open Science Grid led them to choose Condor. The material evolved over three iterations of the course and a special-studies course, with students learning to write programs to solve computational problems and to use Condor grid programming to solve scientific problems.
