The Finite Element method is an already consolidated tool used in the metal forming field in industrial scale. However, further progress is needed regarding the microstructure optimization of components produced by metal forming processes such as hot forging or rolling. This paper aims to present mathematical models to predict microstructure evolution during hot working, showing an application of mathematical models coupled to a thermomechanical processes simulation software.
