Calls for Articles for IEEE CS Publications
IEEE MultiMedia seeks articles for an October–December 2009 special issue on multimedia metadata and semantic management. Multimedia metadata description standards—for example, MPEG-7/21—proposed in recent years have added a new aspect to the creation of multimedia content and related semantic management.
The guest editors invite papers that assess current status and technologies as well as outline major challenges to and future perspectives on multimedia production, management, and exchange. Suitable topics include multimedia retrieval, personalizing multimedia content, cross-media clustering, and mobile applications.
Articles are due by 15 January 2009. Visit to view the complete call for papers and submission instructions.
IEEE Intelligent Systems seeks articles for a September/October 2009 special issue on transforming e-government and e-participation. E-government and e-participation research aims to refocus government on citizens and businesses—and to provide the models, technologies, and tools for more effective and efficient public-administration systems as well as more participatory decision processes.
The guest editors invite papers that address the possible benefits and limitations of tools and applications like the Semantic web, service-oriented architectures, Web 2.0, and social computing as they apply to e-government and e-participation. Suitable topics include rule-based, personalized, and modular one-stop portals; cross-agency service composition and monitoring; and user-generated content and social tagging.
Articles are due by 5 March 2009. Visit to view the complete call for papers and submission instructions.
