Morphology-Based Data Elimination from Medical Image Data
March/April 2000 (vol. 20 no. 2)

The article discusses the relationships between bone morphology and bone intensity in a medical imaging data set and describes how these can be used to reduce the polygon count in the surface models generated. To our knowledge, no previously-published research has investigated this area. The use of the method does not prevent applying further reduction techniques to the model, if required.
