CGI Training for the Entertainment Film Industry

This article explores the background and training of people who were and are the primary practitioners in the film entertainment segment of the computer graphics industry. It does this by tracking both a history of this industry as well as the education available to potential workers during corresponding years. As the digital film industry has matured, the type of education it takes to become part of it has also evolved and shifted. This article discusses what is currently being done to educate people for this business is discussed. Finally, suggestions for how we might educate future digital entertainment workers are also considered.
