ABSTRACT
<p>We present an approach which uses constrained least squares and variable projection to fit B-splines to lines of data, then segments the fit by inserting knots to produce Bezier curves. We present some sample results of our modeler called Autoshape and then compare them with results from a conventional approach.</p>
