1. ADAPSO was a nonprofit trade association representing computer software and services companies. Founded in 1961, ADAPSO changed its name to the Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) in 1991.
2. The CCITT is now the ITU-T (Telecommunication Standardization Sector of the International Telecommunications Union) and is the primary international body for fostering cooperative standards for telecommunications equipment and systems. It is located in Geneva, Switzerland.
3. PTT was a generic European name that referred to state-owned telephone companies.
