The Atlas Computer Laboratory
January-March 1999 (vol. 21 no. 1)
pp. 17-23

The Atlas Computer Laboratory was, and in many ways still is, one of the major computer laboratories in the world. It was established to provide a service to British scientists at a time when powerful computers were not usually available. It provided both a service and a training ground for many of today's leaders in the computer field.
